All prophets warned against arrogance. In particular, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked if self-beautification were prideful and said no, that "Allah is beautiful and loves beauty." Rather, he said, the bad variety of pride means "denying the truth and looking down on people." Humility is a better path to empathy & the heart.
